3 Ways Your Brand Can Use Snapchat

Perhaps you opened a Snapchat account because you heard that it was a fast growing social media app among millennials. But now that you have an account you have no idea how to get any practical use out of it. Relax, and try the following three ways to engage your followers.

 Use an expert

Every field has an expert. In social media circles they’re referred to as influencers. Get influencers in your field to ask their followers to add your Snapchat account during a set period when the influencer posts exclusively to your Snapchat account instead of posting to his own account. The influencer can then use his time with your account to promote an event or a new product. He gets publicity, and your account should gain status as well as a number of new followers.

 Offer tips

People love receiving tips. What hard-earned wisdom have you gained in your field? If you can offer suggestions that will save others time, money and frustration, you may gain that person’s loyalty which means that he will return to your account for more tips. And he’ll let his friends know about your account, too.

 Answer the question

Use your Snapchat account to directly answer the questions of your followers. This strategy makes you approachable and will give people a better idea of the person behind the account. We all appreciate it when we can get our trickier questions fielded by fellow humans rather than preprogrammed software. And the more that you help others with their problems the more ideas you’ll develop for new ways of approaching the challenges unique to your field.

There’s no reason to be intimidated by Snapchat. Each new social media app takes a while to get used to, well, that is, if you’re past the age of 21. Nevertheless, with a little imagination you’ll quickly realize how easy it is to use Snapchat to augment your brand’s social media presence.
